We are settling into the winter months and it is more than likely that some of us will catch a cold, develop a chesty cough or even get the 'flu. Those people with young children will be stocking up on paracetamol and ibuprofen, ready for the annual invasion of runny noses and high temperatures.

But can we spot the signs of a more serious illness?

Sepsis is a global killer.

In the UK, sepsis kills 5 people every hour

If Sepsis is recognised early enough, it can be treated with antibiotics.

Everybody in your community should have access to information on recognising the potential signs of sepsis. The more people that understand and are aware of sepsis, the more lives can be saved.

Think sepsis, act early
